Look the other way

You're in line for over 5 minutes. A new line opens up and the cashier says "Next person in line please." Then the LAST person in line sprints to the new line.

Who does that?! People will be selfish if you let them get away with it. I can't take it anymore.

I sweetly said, "Oh, I think she said the NEXT person in line, not the LAST."

I know human nature is to avoid confrontation, but in all honesty it really doesn't bother me that much. To see this inconsiderate lady turn red and try to stammer out some excuse didn't bother me- there is no excuse! You thought you could get away with treating everyone like crap because they wouldn't speak up! Maybe I'm a bad person, because I didn't feel bad. It almost worries me, I feel little to no emotion for her. I only see logic: you did something selfish and stupid, of course you should feel ashamed.

I think I'm being desensitized. It must be all the tv and internet...
